343 Industries Wants Master Chief In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Master Chief in Super Smash Bros Ultimate? 343 Industries, the development team behind Halo, wants to see it happen.

The highly-anticipated Nintendo Direct at E3 opened with a bang. It was revealed that Tekken’s Kazuya Mishima would be bursting onto the scene as the latest playable character in the popular brawler.

Back when it started all the way back in 1999, the Super Smash Bros series used to feature Nintendo characters exclusively. However, much to the delight of many gamers, the series expanded to include characters from other companies with the release of Super Smash Bros Brawl in 2008. Brawl had third-party characters like Solid Snake from Konami’s Metal Gear series and Mario’s eternal rival, Sonic the Hedgehog.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate broke the fighting scene when it was officially revealed in 2018. As the tagline goes, ‘EVERYONE IS HERE’. And it was true. Ultimate would be the first Smash game to feature all returning characters, as well as 13 newcomers available via DLC.

Kazuya Mishima will be the 85th character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. With only one character left for the Fighter Pass Volume 2, Nintendo could make this a big one.

That’s right, there’s one more slot left to be revealed. A 343 Industries employee hopes that the last remaining slot in the Fighter Pass might be reserved for the Master Chief of the Halo series.

Brian Jarrad, the 343 Industries Community Director, has called upon Xbox chief Phill Spencer and Nintendo chief Doug Bowser to make the magic happen.

As a long-time fan of both games, it would be amazing to have a Chief/Smash announcement today,” said Jarrard. “Nothing is happening that I’m aware of, but maybe momentum this week can open a door. If you agree, maybe we can *politely* express our excitement to @XboxP3 and @thetruebowser.

Halo Community Manager, John Junyszek, hopes to see Master Chief in Super Smash. By the looks of it, so do a lot of fans on Twitter!
