The Baby Yoda hype is very real and you can soon own your own baby bundle of wrinkly green joy thanks to Build-A-Bear.
The Mandalorian’s Baby Yoda became one of the best highlights of 2019, and rightly so – he’s adorable AF. So adorable, that now Build-A-Bear has announced they’re bringing out plush toys of ‘The Child’, and they’re bound to be an instant sell-out.
Video you'll love from around the web
Build-A-Bear CEO Sharon Price John held up a prototype at the ICR Conference in Orlando, Florida on Jan. 14.
“I’m excited to share we will be one of the first companies to provide the digital and internet phenomenon who is trending higher than all the presidential candidates combined,” John said during the event, Business Insider reported. “We now will have The Child, also known as Baby Yoda.”
While we have no exact date of when Baby Yoda will be making its way onto shelves, in the next few months roughly translates to a summer release – meaning by the end of 2020 YOU could have your very own Baby Yoda.
If you can’t be bothered waiting for Build-A-Bear, then you can also get a range of Baby Yoda-themed merchandise in the form of coffee cups, t-shirts, and even a plastic toy of ‘The Child’.
It won’t be much longer until we find out what Baby Yoda’s real name actually is, as Taika Waititi (who stars in The Mandalorian) has begged fans to stop calling him by the affectionate name.
“I knew that people would be talking about Baby Yoda, but I also know Baby Yoda’s real name,” Waititi said. “So if you’re gonna do me a favor, please stop calling him Baby Yoda. Or is it a her! No one knows!”
I’m a big fan of “Nigel” being the canon name tbh.
