A New Harry Potter RPG Has Been Leaked Online

2018 might be bringing some of the best games ever (Red Dead and Fallout, anyone?) but this might be a year that goes down in gaming history for an entirely different reason…

If the following clip is to be believed, a Harry Potter RPG might be getting revealed this year, and honestly it looks amazing.

The short clip shows off a non-Harry playable character casting spells in battle, caring for magical creatures, hanging with some goblins and exploring the hallowed halls of Hogwarts.

According to Reddit [via Press-Start], an American focus group is the source of the leak, but it’s still not known whether or not it really is legit…
The leak also included the following game description, stating:”Set in the 19th Century (1800’s) Wizarding World, this 3rd person open-world action RPG game centers around your character with unique abilities who has eared a late acceptance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.”You are a newly arrived 5th year student to Hogwarts that demonstrates a latent gift for magic with a unique ability to track and identify remnants of a pottant [sic] ancient power.

“Upon arrival, strange events begin to materialize In the Forbidden Forrest and trouble begins o [sic] brew within the castle walls.

“Together with Professor Elezar Fig, you embark on a journey through both familiar and never before seen locations to bring to light the truth behind these mysterious occurrences.

“On your quest you will craft potions, master new spells, and discover fantastical beasts. You will battle Dark Wizards, Goblins, and other supernatural enemies and uncover the truth about your destiny – the Fate of the Wizarding World lies in your hands.

“FEATURES

  • Journey to Hogwarts to become one of 8 different Wizard types

The game is supposedly coming from Rocksteady, and it’s expected we might actually get an official announcement of its existence before the year is over.

If the studio behind this really is Rocksteady then it’s yet another clue to the legitimacy of the footage, as Rocksteady is owned by Warner Bros., who of course has the rights to Harry Potter and his world.

The video that was uploaded to YouTube has been taken down by Warner Bros which may indicate that it is in fact a true leak. It also means that it might be slightly harder to find the video if you haven’t seen it yet.
