As reported by Deadline, a System Shock TV show is in the works and we can’t wait! Shocking, I know (sorry, cheap pun).
System Shock is a first-person sci-fi horror and was first released for the PC way back in 1994. However, it soon became somewhat of a forgotten gem (at least at first). In 1999, System Shock was to get a sequel, and this quickly became a cult classic that is still loved to this very day. It is often thought that the BioShock series became a spiritual successor to this beloved sci-fi horror.
Thankfully, despite lurking in the shadows, the System Shock series has never been forgotten by time. In fact, there’s even a System Shock remake on the way! However, the System Shock goodness doesn’t end there because a TV arriving next year.
Airing on Binge, a new up and coming entertainment streaming platform, the System Shock production will be a live-action series. Furthermore, the developers of System Shock 2 of Nightdive, Stephen Kick and Larry Kuperman will be overseeing the project as executive producers. The live-action adaptation will also be produced by Binge’s Chief Content Officer, Allan Ungar.
“I’ve always believed that a live-action adaptation of System Shock would be the perfect medium to retell the harrowing story of Citadel station and its rogue AI that subjects the crew to unimaginable horror,” said Stephen Kick. “We’re very excited to see the talented team at Binge bring System Shock to life in horrifyingly real and new ways.”

If you recognise the Binge name, it may be due to the recent announcement of the PlayStation series, Driver also getting a live-action adaptation. I wonder which classic video game series Binge will revive next?
