In a recent December update new abilities were added to Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla which have now mysteriously disappeared for some players. If you’ve experienced this error with Valhalla, don’t panic, as you can apparently fix it by simply disconnecting your internet.
The new abilities arrived following the Yule Festival Event (which ends this week). A new skill was added to the three main categories, Bear, Wolf and Raven.
The Bear received the Ready to Fight skill, which gives you a full adrenaline shot at the start of each fight. The Wolf received the Arrow Looter which increases the number of arrows you can collect from fallen enemies, and finally the Raven received Assassin Carry which allows you to automatically pick-up dead bodies after they are assassinated.
However reports suggest that these new abilities are showing up for some players and not for others.
I am one of those players that has seen the new abilities as I’ve activated at least one of them already. However I’ve not checked recently to see if they are still there (so I’ll do that soon).
As reported by Kotaku, none of these three new abilities were mentioned in the December patch notes, which might explain the inconsistency of whether they show or not for some players.
There seems to be an odd workaround to get the three new abilities to appear within your Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla skill-tree, and that’s apparently by disconnecting your console or PC from the internet.
According to Kotaku some players had lost their allotted skill points when they had purchased the new abilities. Some players (including the Kotaku writer) were refunded the skill points following the loss of the abilities.
It’s certainly an odd situation having a bug that grants you access to certain abilities when disconnected from the internet.
Ubisoft is apparently aware of this issue so hopefully the new abilities will be fixed soon.
