‘Accounting+’ Is Boring By Name, Bananas By Nature

Accounting+ is quite possibly one of the weirdest games you’ll ever play. It’s boring by name yet bananas by nature, featuring some of the strangest comedy quips to come from a VR game about being an accountant. This motion-controlled calamity is a collaboration between William Pugh (The Stanley Parable), Dominik Johann (Minit) and Justin Roiland (Rick and Morty), and it definitely deserves more love!

Accounting+ recently received a hefty discount thanks to the Steam Lunar New Year sale, so hopefully you picked it up (if not, you can still grab it for full price here).

The game also got a new trailer which is almost like an old Vine in video game form (or TikTok if you’re not old, I suppose). The trailer shows the best that Accounting+ has to offer: office chores, drive-by shootings, demonic rituals and skeleton xylophones. Nope. Nothing odd about this game at all. Check out the trailer below.

Fear not, if you’re still confused, then there’s a handy list of features on the games Steam page labelled “dangers”, which are as follows:

If you die in VR, you die in real life.

Do not play after midnight.

Some Characters may be unfriendly and not actively encourage you during gameplay.

Achievements linked to unforgivable acts of human corruption.

A soundtrack that is way better than a VR game soundtrack should have any right to be.

Subtitles and Translations for 9 languages… Oh wow that’s internationally dangerous.

The vacuum of space.

Sitting and Standing Mode are BOTH available (and dangerous)!!

And, unfortunately: The Cops.

On second thought, maybe don’t read the game’s Steam page if you’re confused.

The trailer also features a beautiful soundtrack, perfectly encapsulating what this experience is all about. I take that back. Please adjust your volume to make sure your cat doesn’t absolutely panic.

Accounting+ is compatible with HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Oculus Rift DK2, as well as motion-tracked controllers on Steam. The game is also available for PlayStation VR, both physically and digitally. If you want weird and wonderful, Accounting+ is the game for you!
