Earlier this year, Animal Crossing New Horizons got a bunch of Mario themed goodies as part of a collaboration. As a result, players have been getting creative with their islands, and the most recent project to catch our eye is a rather impressive recreation of Bowser’s Castle. Check it out!

Created by Reddit user BookwormACNH, the castle was created using various Mario related shop items. In contrast to the game’s usual cutesy aesthetic, BookwormACNH opted to use Bowser’s greyscale aesthetic, paired alongside fire flowers, black tulips and even a pair of menacing-looking Thwomps. Of course, Bowser’s flag also decorates the castle walls.
Sure, being able to recreate Bowser’s iconic castle is pretty impressive. However, the game’s Mario items actually have some practical uses. For example, Animal Crossing’s new green warp pipes add fast travel to the game, while floating blocks can be used to create tunnels. I can almost hear the Mario underground theme.
Here’s hoping even more creative shop items are added to Animal Crossing New Horizons in the future. Who knows, perhaps we’ll see even more fan projects like Bowser’s Castle being shared in the future. Personally, I’d love to see some Zelda inspired islands come to Animal Crossing. Did somebody say Koholint Island?
