BioWare’s Anthem was one of the most hotly-anticipated games of early 2019, but it’s unfortunately not landed with the bang that was expected.
The online multiplayer has suffered from slow loading times, server issues and bugs, and after weeks of mixed reception since launch it’s officially taken the title of BioWare’s worst-rated game on Metacritic [via LadBible].

The PlayStation version sits at a score of 63, Xbox takes the lead with 65 and PC trails behind with a score of 60. All three versions have a rating of “generally unfavourable.”
It’s a shame for BioWare, as its previous games include the hugely-successful Mass Effect series and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

Over on Twitter, people are pretty p*ssed at EA right now, with more than just a few people branding Anthem “the worst game ever.”
What I have to say about #Anthem is that its probably the worst game I’ve played since any game I’ve played since a launch. Get it together guys you have had us waiting for this since the trailer. I am truly disappointed in #EA #Bioware and I feel like I threw away 70 bucks.

Anthem is the WORST game I’ve ever played. It has it’s fun moments but it has way too many faults to be enjoyable. Maybe in a few months, it will be better but right now all I wanna do is finish the campaign and forget about it.

Anthem‘s most common complaint is its faults, with lots of people saying they enjoy the gameplay – when it’s functioning.
#anthem is the worst game I ever played… What a waste of money!!!

It seems like online multiplayers are doomed to failure until bug patches and fixes are implemented after launch (looking at you, Fallout 76)…
