Let’s face it – the world is looking pretty darn bleak right now thanks to the global pandemic, COVID-19 which continues to spread and is keeping thousands stuck at home. However, the games industry is doing its part with lots of companies offering free-to-play events and other such goodness to keep people going during these difficult times.
While some in the industry have been doing their best to keep spirits high, others have been cryptically teasing a potential big game announcement, and of course I’m talking about the Assassin’s Creed franchise.
Voice actor Abubakar Salim, who lent his talents to the wonderful Assassin’s Creed Origins, recently took to Twitter to share some hope in these dark times, and he just so happened to tease what lots of people think could be a new AC title.
He said: “Although the world is turning to poop, and people are literally acting like the stupid people in zombie/contagion films (completely understand why there are so many Zombies in these films now)…
“There are some mighty reveals and announcements coming to you all this week.”
There’s not too much to go on here, but we’ve been hearing a lot of rumours about a supposed Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok, and with E3 2020 now cancelled, an official game announcement could happen at literally any time.
The last supposed leak we heard about Ragnarok, a name which stems from various leaks in the past, was back in January of this year.
At the time, the unverified claims stated that Ragnarok was due to be announced by Ubisoft in February, during the PlayStation event. It’s apparently in development for Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
It was then claimed that the game “continues heavy RPG mechanics, now including different classes and mild skill tree changes based on class. Player class can be changed by a specific character.”
If a February reveal had been on the cards, it’s seeming likely that Ubisoft really could be gearing up for a big announcement later this week.
Keep your eyes peeled!
