It’s been confirmed that the next addition to the Assassin’s Creed franchise will be Valhalla, allowing players to explore the Viking era and all the blood and violence that comes along with the time period. That’s not the only thing players will get to experience though, as it’s been confirmed that Valhalla will feature one of the UK’s most historic landmarks: Stonehenge.

As reported by VG247, the game’s creative director Ashraf Ismail, recently shared the news on Twitter. Ismail responded to a fan query, confirming that yes, the likes of Stonehenge and many more UK landmarks will be featured in the game.
Last week saw the official reveal for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, with an epic cinematic trailer which you can check out below. It’s been confirmed that players can tackle the game as either a male or female hero, with in-depth customisation options including tattoos and facial hair.
The story appears to have a focus on King Alfred the Great, and will be set across four kingdoms.
“He’s the king of Wessex, the southernmost kingdom in England at the time,” Ismail said of Alfred. “There’s also three others – Mercia, Northumbria and East Anglia – that we deal with.
“[King Alfred] specifically is known for being one of the most staunch opponents of the Viking invasion. He was the strongest of the kings. He was able to push them back for a time and deal with them, whereas the other kings would crumble under the onslaught of the Danes and the Norse.”
There are 14 game studios currently developing Valhalla, so expect to to be a LOT bigger than even the likes of 2018’s Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, which is pretty darn big.
The game will be launching sometime in Holiday 2020, for both current and next-generation consoles.
