Bethesda is bringing back the ‘Adoring Fan’ in Starfield

Bethesda has revealed that the ‘Adoring Fan’ from The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion is returning in the forthcoming Starfield. Wonderful!

In case you didn’t know, the Adoring Fan was an incredibly annoying NPC in Oblivion.

This Adoring Fan really lived up to its namesake. It would quite literally worship the ground that you walked on and would pester you continually.

Please, not the Adoring Fan again!

At first, he might have been someone a little charming, if not still punchable.

However, when you realised that this little thing wouldn’t leave you alone, you’d be daydreaming of punching the Walnut Whip-headed NPC in the throat.

The return of the Adoring Fan was confirmed by Mr Bethesda, Todd Howard.

The confirmation was very subtly revealed during a video in which Howard was answering community questions related to Starfield.

He will worship you once more!

At 3:17 into the video below, a quest on the right-hand side tab, titled ‘Hero Worshipped‘, can be seen.

Can you feel the hairs stand on the back of your neck when you realise the inevitable? It makes me shudder!

Furthermore, the quest description reads: “You’ve earned the attention of an annoying “Adoring Fan” who will show up randomly and jabber at you incessantly. On the plus side, he’ll give you gifts…

Is this the same Adoring Fan from Oblivion?

It remains to be seen if this is the same Adoring Fan from Oblivion. Unless of course, he has an equally annoying intergalactic relative.

I suppose, if there’s one positive of the Adoring Fan making a return in Starfield, it’s that at least we can send them spiralling into outer space never to be seen again. That will work, right?
