BioWare Executive Gives Update On Dragon Age 4

Dragon Age 4 has been all but absent from recent discussions of upcoming games, with the only update being some glimpses of what’s believed to be the work-in-progress shown during EA’s gaming event earlier this summer. Thankfully, we’ve finally heard what’s happening with the game and how its development is coming along during the global pandemic.

The news comes from BioWare executive producer Mark Darrah, who recently took to Twitter to share a couple of updates with Dragon Age fans. Darrah confirmed the game is currently in production, though admitted there’s been some struggles with working on the game from home.

He tweeted: “I realize that most of you are here for Dragon Age news and there hasn’t been a lot of that lately… Let me just run down some things I [c]an say: 1. We are working on the next Dragon Age 2. Yes we are working from home 3. Working from home is harder 4. We are making progress”

It’s not exactly the best news, but at least we know Dragon Age 4 is still happening, even if it is taking longer than planned. We’re all making the best of the current global situation, so hopefully the team at BioWare are prioritising their health and safety over the game’s development. Take your time guys, we’ll wait!

EA gave the world a look at what’s almost definitely Dragon Age 4 during its June 18th livestream event, EA Play.

The show ended with a look at some of the works-in-progress from EA, including a little on BioWare’s next project. Teased only as a “fantasy game” and not named, BioWare’s upcoming game is all but confirmed to be Dragon Age 4.

Sadly we didn’t get to see too much of the game, but it was shown running on next-gen hardware. This essentially confirms Dragon Age 4 is coming to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, though neither EA or BioWare has explicitly confirmed this.

Still, what we’re seeing here looks great. Let’s hope we hear more news soon!
