Bizarre Twitter Fight Leads To Terraria Being Cancelled On Google Stadia

Terraria is a 2D sandbox survival game that features building mechanics similar to the likes of Minecraft. Because it has been released on various other consoles over the years, the game was more than ready for a Google Stadia release. Until Google locked the game’s creator, Andrew Spinks, out of all his Google services.

Google is a minefield when it comes to services. All it takes is one thing to go wrong then boom, you’ve potentially lost access to everything. Your email, digital media collection and personal storage accounts. While this likely happens to users daily, Google probably didn’t anticipate that it would result in Terraria being cancelled for Google Stadia.

What Did THe Terraria Creator Have To Say?

After being locked from his account for three weeks, Spink’s went to Twitter. What better place to vent your frustration? He describes his experience with the company as follows:

“My account has now been disabled for over 3 weeks,” claims Spinks. “I still have no idea why, and after using every resource, I have to get this resolved you have done nothing but given me the runaround.”

Google Play, Google Drive, YouTube and Gmail are among Spink’s losses. In his outrage, he posted the following damning announcement:

“I absolutely have not done anything to violate your terms of service, so I can take this no other way than you deciding to burn this bridge. Consider it burned. #Terraria for @GoogleStadia is cancelled. My company will no longer support any of your platforms moving forward.”

Spinks also stated that he would not be “involved with a corporation that values their customers and partners so little”. The only response so far appears to be an automated reply from TeamYoutube. They seem to be blissfully unaware of the issue’s implications.

Terraria’s official Twitter account also attempted to discuss the issues with TeamYoutube three weeks ago but to no avail. It’s easy to see why Spinks wouldn’t want his company, Re-logic, involved with a conglomerate that can’t even ensure a smooth service with its business partners.

Whether Google will be able to revert Terraria’s Stadia release being cancelled remains to be seen. One thing is for sure – Spinks definitely wants to send a strong message to the company about how it handles its services.
