When it comes to creating games you can’t get much more different than with Nintendo and Rockstar Games.
Nintendo is most-loved for its family-friendly games and cute characters, whereas Rockstar Games is known for Grand Theft Auto, in-game prostitution and in-game drug use.

However, it seems that the next addition to Nintendo’s Legend of Zelda franchise might have directly taken some inspiration from Rockstar’s iconic 2018 title, Red Dead Redemption 2.
In a recent interview with IGN, Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma was asked about the games that were currently inspiring the younger members of the development team.
Aonuma responded: “I did hear that a lot of people were playing … Red Dead Redemption 2.”

Whether or not we’re going to see any of Rockstar’s influence in the next BOTW is pretty unlikely, but it’s going to be exciting to look out for!
Next to nothing is known about the sequel to Breath Of The Wild. The game was announced as “in development” in a surprise mic-drop moment of Nintendo’s E3 2019 Nintendo Direct.
If you missed the announcement teaser trailer, check it out below.
The video’s description simply reads: “The sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is now in development for Nintendo Switch!”
We probably won’t be playing this sequel to BOTW anytime soon. In fact, if it gets a release date within the next three years I’ll definitely be surprised.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is considered not only to be one of the best games available for the Switch, but also one of the best Zelda games of all time.
Launching alongside the Nintendo Switch on March 3, 2017, BOTW became an instant classic, wowing both long-standing fans of the franchise and those new to the table.
We can’t wait to see what a sequel might bring – especially considering the Zelda series has shied away from direct sequels in the past…
