Bethesda’s Fallout 76 has one of the worst launches possible, releasing last year to a very lukewarm reception and a tonne of issues Bethesda is still struggling to get right.
The game quickly dropped from the standard price of a AAA game to around $35 USD within just a few weeks of launch, and it’s since become a bit of a meme that retailers just can’t seem to shift copies of Fallout 76 from their shelves.

It looks like the problem is still continuing though, as one Reddit user shared a snap of a Fallout 76 and microphone combo pack being sold at a cheaper price than the mic on its own.
Ouch.
Redditor 42camelsinatinycar posted the following image along with the caption: “Simply including Fallout 76 devalues the microphone,” and the post has hit nearly 50 thousand upvotes at the time of writing.

As you can see, it’s $20 USD cheaper to buy the Fallout 76 bundle than it is the microphone on its own.
Later on in the thread, 42camelsinatinycar confirms that the microphones are the same model, with just the colour being different between the two.
It’s not clear which retailer the products are being sold by.

Sadly, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen Fallout 76 fail to impress on the shelves – even when it’s a bargain.
Earlier this year a Polish retailer came up with the ingenious idea to give away copies of the Bethesda title, completely free, with the purchase of £4 ($5 USD) thumb grips for the PlayStation 4 DualShock.
Before that, GameStop stores in Germany, Austria and Switzerland were giving away a brand-new copy of Fallout 76 with the purchase of used PlayStation 4 or Xbox One controllers.

Electronics store Saturn was also apparently including a copy of the game with sales of the Fallout 76 Xbox One bundle. If you picked up the bundle from a Saturn store, you’d get Fallout 76 twice, because why not have a physical AND a digital copy of the same (bad) game…?

Bethesda is still hard at work on Fallout 76. Hopefully they’ll be able to pull a No Man’s Sky with the game…
