Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is coming very, very soon, and the game’s multiplayer has gotten tongues wagging.

Last week Activision showed off an exciting look at what we can expect from Cold War’s multiplayer mode, revealing lots of new details. Perhaps one of the most interesting is the reintroduction of an old CoD mechanic: the health bar.
Yes, from the new videos it’s been spotted that the game will once again give players health bars, allowing you to see just how close your enemies are to hitting the ground. Interestingly, you won’t even need to be aiming your weapon at them for the health bar to be revealed – it’s simply there all the time (from what we can tell, at least).

Health bars might not seem very Call of Duty, but this isn’t the first time we’ve seen them. They made an appearance in Black Ops 4, but they were a little trickier to keep tabs on than they appear to be in the latest footage. Check them out in the multiplayer reveal video below!

In related news, Black Ops Cold War will also bringing back a fan-favourite mini-map style.
One of the most disliked things about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and its free-to-play Battle Royale counterpart, Warzone, is their mini-maps. For those who aren’t a fan of Infinity Ward’s mini-maps, you’ll be glad to know that Treyarch and Raven Software’s new CoD game will feature the classic red-dot mini-map. Hooray!

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is due to release on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on November 13 2020. Next-gen versions of the game will also be available.
