We haven’t heard much about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Tamagotchi-like virtual pets in long time. The idea of virtual pets you wear on your wrist was first mentioned way before the game even launched, back in August of last year. Finally though, the wrist pets have landed thanks to the game’s latest update.
Sharing the news on the official Activision blog, Infinity Ward explains just how you can become the virtual parent you always wanted to be (and no, it’s not free).
The developer explains: “Rothwynn Industries is proud to introduce Tomogunchi. This is more than a mere watch: This is a nesting device that houses the most realistic artificial intelligence ever witnessed in a Rothwynn Industries wrist-based product.”
What that breaks down to is a pet that you hatch, feed and love.
If you pick up a Tomogunchi you’ll be subjected to it “craving almost constant attention” – even while you’re in combat.
Infinity Ward explains: “Feed your new friend into contentment by figuring out which emotional state you need to change. They head into combat and begin a rampage to feed your Tomogunchi; providing sustenance in the form of Kills, Objective Scoring, Killstreaks, and Wins. That’s going to cheer up your creature in no time! Unless your battles start to go badly, of course….”
Evolve your pet by filling the bonus charge meter with Captures, Killstreaks, Plants, or Top Three Wins.
If you want to take your Modern Warfare game to the next level, you’ll need to purchase the Tomogunchi Bundle from the game store.

Personally these things sound more annoying than fun, but maybe that’s just me. Will you be picking up the Tomogunchi Bundle?
