Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Will Feature More Returning Characters

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is looking set to be one of the best CoD games of the last few years, and we couldn’t be any more excited for it.

The upcoming title is promising to deliver a more narrative-rich experience, offering up tough decision-making and more realistic gameplay for a darker and grittier experience.

We already know from the game’s trailer and teasers that we can expect the likes of Captain Price making a return, but it’s just been confirmed that he won’t be the only familiar character [via ComicBook].

Over on Twitter, CoD narrative director Taylor Kurosaki recently replied to a fan question, suggesting there’s even more surprises in store.

When asked if there’s going to be “some familiar faces in the game other than Captain Price,” Kurosaki replied with a simple: “Yep.”

Well, colour me intrigued! Of course, we have no clue who else we might be seeing in the game, but there’s a lot of people we’d love to see make their return to Call of Duty!

In a recent interview with PlayStation Magazine [via WCCFTech], Kurosaki was joined by fellow CoD developer Jacob Minkoff (who, like Kurosaki, worked on the likes of the Uncharted series and The Last of Us).

The former Naughty Dog developers discussed the darker tones of the next CoD, with Kurosaki saying: “[Modern Warfare] means enemies don’t wear uniforms, it means that collateral damage is a real part of the equation. People having to make split-second life-or-death decisions.”

Minkoff added: “If we’re going to tell a story about characters finding their line and being pushed past [it], feeling like things are morally grey and they’re uncomfortable with it, then we need to make the player, in gameplay, feel uncomfortable. We’re going to make you question your own morality as a player.”

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare arrives October 25th, 2019.
