While most of world is thinking pumpkins and trick-or-treating at this time of year, gamers are only thinking of one thing: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
Launching later this month, the new CoD is expected to be one of the biggest games of the year, and one person in particular is predicting its launch will crush the likes of PUBG forever.
Streamer and gamer Dr Disrespect has never really been quiet about his opinions on PUBG, but it seems he’s thinking that CoD will be the final nail in the battle royale’s coffin.
In a recent stream [via ComicBook] Dr Disrespect lashed out against Player Unknown’s Battle Grounds and its developers, telling his audience: “Guess what — Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, we got a couple more weeks, and then guess what: Battlegrounds we will probably never hear from again.”
He went on to criticise the game’s devs, saying to them: “You never fixed your game. You never did anything with your game. You never, like, made it feel really good and smooth.
“You never add any new content. You didn’t add any servers so I’m not playing on 90 ping every game. You didn’t do anything…That’s why nobody is playing your game.”
We almost definitely will see a dip in the number of players for games like Fortnite, PUBG and Apex Legends, but whether it’s going to be a permanent lull seems pretty unlikely.
CoD has already hit its own controversies after it was revealed that Modern Warfare PS4 players will have access to the Spec Ops Survival mode for a whole year, with Xbox One and PC gamers not getting to play it until 1st October 2020.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is set to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on October 25 2019.
