Last week saw Call of Duty’s Modern Warfare and Warzone get a meaty 15GB update. Though the update introduced some cool new stuff as part of the games’ third Season of content, it also brought an unwelcome surprise: super-long matchmaking times.
Matchmaking times have increased for a lot of players, and it turns out it’s not just in your head but is an actual problem. Thankfully it’s not going to be a problem for too long, according to multiplayer director, Joe Cecot.

As reported by CoD intel site, CharlieIntel, Cecot recently took to Twitter to respond to a fan’s queries over the extended matchmaking times.
Cecot confirmed that the problem has been “identified,” adding that the developers are currently “working on a fix.”
Hooray!
Speaking of that meaty 15GB patch, dataminers have unearthed what looks like a bunch of upcoming new games modes set to enter play.
The news was spotted over on the ModernWarzone subreddit [via VGC], where it’s noted that no less than 13 (!!) game modes have been located within the new update.

These reportedly include a “classic Battle Royale” mode, which looks like it’ll get rid of the Gulag, respawns, cash and loadouts for a more typical BR experience. Other modes bear names like “BYOL,” which looks like it’ll allow you to start with our own custom loadout. “Non Stop” mode has also been spotted, and it looks like it’ll see the gas circle closing in throughout the entire match.
It’s expected the modes will be Limited Time Modes, though it’s not known when we’ll be able to try them out for ourselves. Check out the full list right here.
Both Modern Warfare and Warzone have become must-play games of 2020, and since we’re all still stuck at home, that’s definitely no bad thing!
