RIP Plunder (temporarily).

Call Of Duty: Warzone Players Really, Really Want Plunder To Come Back

Call of Duty: Warzone has ditched one of its game modes now that Season Four has officially begun. Plunder, which wasn’t exactly the most popular mode in the free-to-play game, is temporarily gone, and the internet really isn’t happy.

Plunder, which sees players try and get as much cash as they can as the clock runs down, has confirmed to be on a temporary hiatus, though when the mode will return is not yet known.

The news of the game mode’s temporary break has been confirmed by Infinity Ward’s co-design director of multiplayer, Joe Cecot, who responded to one gamer’s reaction to the loss of Plunder.

Cecot tweeted: “It will be back soon. Just made room for MP trial and Warzone Rumble. I love it too :)”

Despite the confirmation, players are still pretty upset at Plunder’s removal, with lots of people threatening to boycott Warzone until it returns. Others have even go so far as to accuse Activision and Infinity Ward of “ruining” Season Four.

Hopefully we won’t have too long to wait until Plunder returns, though it looks like there’s big plans not just for this game mode, but for others too, if recent rumours are to be believed.

Players are definitely very curious about a number of new sightings on Warzone’s menu – more specifically – a number of game modes which now show the number “200” beside them. These include “Battle Royale” and “Plunder,” with the new addition of “BR Juggernaut” also now showing (albeit with no 200 next to it).

Of course, the leaks have gotten the rumour mill into action, with lots of people convinced that this means Season Four will introduce a 200-player mode to the game.

Could this be the real reason we’re now without Plunder…? Only time will tell!
