Leaked audio logs are hinting at a sandbox mode and an explosive nuke event, coming soon to Call of Duty: Warzone.
The alleged news comes courtesy of Call of Duty leaker, ZestyCODLeaks [via VGC]. ZestyCODLeaks took to Twitter to share a video just less than six minutes in length. It seemingly highlights some of the modes and features that will soon be arriving in Warzone. Allegedly.
The biggest piece of information from the leaked clip indicates that a new sandbox mode is coming. It will reportedly involve the Verdansk map being overrun by zombies and a big nuke explosion.
What gives the audio logs extra credit is the fact that they sound like the dialogue has been ripped straight from the game, being voiced by the game’s actors.
The idea of zombies overrunning the Verdansk map is quite possibly related to the rumoured Plague mode that is expected to launch in Warzone. It allegedly involves fighting hordes of the undead before a nuclear bomb explodes.
Meanwhile, one of the sandbox activities that the audio seems to refer to are obstacle courses which will record your best times, vehicle racing, and weapons-free areas with live-fire disabled.
According to VGC, nuclear warheads were found in Warzone back in February, and with the leaked audio including the dialogue lines of “last chance to cleanse Verdansk, soldier” all the numbers are adding up.
VGC also claims to have sources that say the upcoming Zombies/nuclear sandbox mode is designed to be a narrative-driven experience. It will apparently transition the Warzone from Modern Warfare (2019) into the more recent version from Black Ops Cold War.
Despite how legit the leaked audio logs appear to sound, take unconfirmed rumours with a pinch of salt.
However, going by past experience, now this cat is out of the bag Activision will likely make an official announcement soon.
