Capcom Spotlight March 2023 – everything you missed from the show

The Capcom Spotlight aired last night and revealed a lot of exciting games launching throughout the year. Here is a summary of what was announced!

Mega Man Battle Network

The Spotlight kicked off with a new trailer for the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection. This tactical RPG releases on April 14 for Steam, Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The collection features ten whole games from the series and is split across two volumes when it releases digitally.

Street Fighter 6

The next instalment in the Street Fighter franchise is set for launch on June 2. For fans of this fighting game, Capcom used the Spotlight event to announce the last of eight Colour Commentators. This one will be courtesy of Japanese actress, Hikaru Takahashi. She will be there to hype up your matches and you can find out more below!

Exoprimal

This dinosaur fighting/time-loop centred game was the next to receive attention at the event. Capcom released both a new trailer and a release date – July 14. Until then, you can get your hands on the open beta which runs from March 17-19. We wrote more about what you can expect from the game here

Ghost Trick Phantom Detective 

Also featured was this upcoming adventure game that tells the story of an amnesiac ghost. Players can work out how he died when the game launches for Steam, Playstation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in June. It is also available for pre-order now! Fun fact, Phantom Detective is also from the creator behind Ace Attourney.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak 

The upcoming expansion for Monster Hunter also got some attention during Capcom’s Spotlight. It will drop on April 28 and will include an improvement to gameplay as well as additional combat. You can see what’s new in their newest trailer below.

Resident Evil 4 Remake

Last but not least (and perhaps what everybody was waiting for), was news on the Resident Evil 4 Remake. Although we knew the game is set for launch on March 24, the Capcom Spotlight announced the Chainsaw demo. Available now, this demo allows players to experience the opening scenes of the upcoming title. We wrote more about it here!

Final announcements

Capcom also took the opportunity to tease their upcoming CG movie, Resident Evil Death Island. Coming to screens this Summer, the movie will see fan favourite, Jill Valentine as a prominent part. 

Finally, Capcom also announced their digital theme park – Capcom Town. This is to celebrate the company’s 40th anniversary and will open on June 12!
