In Choo-Choo Charles, you must steer your train through the dark, collecting scraps to upgrade and repair it. Your enemy is a terrifying red steam train with beetle-like legs.
While your train is limited to the tracks, meaning you must leave the relative safety of your cab to dash into the darkness for supplies, Choo-Choo Charles can go anywhere.
He is coming. He is always coming.
Developed and published by Two Star Games, they describe the aim of Choo-Choo Charles like this:
“Navigate an island in an old train, upgrade it over time, and use it to fight an evil sentient train that terrorizes your home. Charles is hungry; don’t be his next meal.”

The hand-drawn, sketchy style of the NPCs’ visuals echoes the style of Two Star Games’ back catalogue, such as their ‘My Beautiful Paper Smile’ series. This is contrasted with the hyper-realistic island – and the detailed horror of Choo-Choo Charles.
The game is due out early next year, but you can add it to your Steam wishlist now.
