May all the good things he shared, stories he wrote, live on with us forever. Thank you, Fahmi.

This is sad news from not only a talented developer but one that is clearly admired within the community.

Tributes have poured in

Tributes for Fahmi began pouring in across social media. “Rest In Peace buddy, you are incredible and your impact on the world of indies is beyond compare,“ said community manager at Bungie, Liana Rupert.

Head of PlayStation Studios Malaysia, Hasnul Hadi said that the industry has lost “one of the brightest stars”.

This is a game that we cherish fondly at GameByte. In an article titled “We Need to Talk About Coffee Talk” we said: “Where games like Animal Crossing: New Horizons and The Sims 4 offer an almost-literal escape from reality into a world you’ve built, Coffee Talk offers a pre-set safe space which will challenge your expectations and get you thinking, talking and feeling.

The sequel to this cosy indie darling was announced in 2021. Coffee Talk Episode Two: Hibiscus and Butterfly is scheduled to be released this year.

GameByte sends all our love and well wishes to the family as well as the friends of Mohammad Fahmi during this tragic time.
