According to Rockstar Games’ parent company Take-Two, plans to release more Red Dead Redemption games are in the works. YEEHA, cowboy!
The original Red Dead Redemption was released in 2010 and quickly became one of my favourite games of all time. Eight years later we would then be treated to a sequel. Well, technically, Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel, but you get what I mean.
Rockstar Games fans will know that the developer is never in any rush to release a new game and that usually works to its benefit. However, fans will be eager to know whether we’ll be getting a third Red Dead Redemption. Sorry, 2004’s Red Dead Revolver, I haven’t forgotten about you.
Thankfully, we do now know that a new RDR will arrive. At least one day. As reported by GameRant, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed there will be another entry in the series.
When speaking at the Jefferies Virtual Global Interactive Entertainment Conference, Zelnick revealed that the Rockstar Games plan to launch more RDR titles. However, it will be a safe assumption to make that a third RDR game will be several years away.
Whenever that third game may arrive, it will be interesting to see what story the game will follow. Could we explore the origins of Dutch van der Linde or perhaps even Jack Marston the son of John? Maybe we might even get the rumoured remake of the original game? Only time will tell.
