A Crysis Remastered Trilogy collection is coming to console and PC this year, according to a recent announcement from the developer.
Featuring optimised graphics and enhanced performance on the PS5 and Xbox Series X, the Crysis Remastered Trilogy will comprise all three classic Crytek shooters:
“Crysis Remastered ✓ Crysis 2 Remastered ✓ Crysis 3 Remastered ✓
“Crysis Remastered Trilogy is coming to consoles and PC this fall! Visit the North Korean islands, save humanity from a deadly virus in New York City and uncover the truth about C.E.L.L.”
As well as announcing the collection via Twitter, Crytek also issued an official blog post, which details some of the remastered collection’s features:
“Crytek today announced that the Crysis Remastered Trilogy will launch for consoles and PC this fall. The Crysis Remastered Trilogy features the single-player remasters of Crysis, Crysis 2, and Crysis 3, optimized in partnership with Saber Interactive for today’s consoles and PC hardware. The three-game bundle will be available on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and for PC, with the game playing even smoother on next gen PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Crysis Remastered is available for these platforms now, and the remasters of Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 will also be made available separately.”
As mentioned in the blog post, fans who already own Crysis Remastered will be able to pick up its sequels separately. While Crytek previously dropped hints that a Crysis 2 remaster was on the cards, a complete trilogy is a bit of a surprise. While it’s not entirely clear whether any of the games will feature ray tracing or resolutions beyond 4K, the collection should satisfy some gamers eager to get their hands on Crysis 4.
The Crysis Remastered Trilogy is coming to PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC later this year. The collection is also playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S via backwards compatibility.
