Cyberpunk 2077 Actor Has Leaked Her Own Character’s Backstory

Before we get into this one, if you didn’t guess from the title, this article contains potential spoilers for Cyberpunk 2077. You have been warned.

CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 may be a few months from release, but that hasn’t stopped a few leaks making their way to the internet. Interestingly, this latest plot leak comes straight from the source – performance capture artist and Canadian pop singer, Grimes.

During a recent livestream, Grimes opened up about the character she plays in the upcoming dystopian RPG, and she probably said a little bit more than she should…

In a now-deleted video summarised on Reddit, the artist reportedly told her viewers: “I did my voice acting for Lizzy Wizzy, that game is going to be f***ing good. I mean I haven’t played it, but I saw someone play an hour of the game.”

Grime continued: “The game was fantastic, and I play a pop star who committed suicide on stage, and they had to quickly come and perform emergency surgery and replace her whole body with cybernetics while she was dead for an hour. Then she finished the show as a cyborg. One of the greatest pieces of performance art ever made.”

Sadly the video has now been removed, but it’s always good to hear a snippet of things to come!

In other related news, CD Projekt Red has confirmed some great news for those purchasing Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox One.

Taking to Twitter, the official Cyberpunk page announced that if you’re buying the game, you’ll be able to get it for next-gen for free when it’s available.

They tweeted: “Gamers should never be forced to purchase the same game twice or pay for upgrades. Owners of #Cyberpunk2077 for Xbox One will receive the Xbox Series X upgrade for free when available.”

Here’s hoping we see this become the new norm for current-gen gaming!
