Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is now into its second season, and the latest game update has introduced a brand-new map. Starting now, the Gunfight map, Bazaar, has officially entered play, and it promises a world of fun for seasoned players.
Bazaar was originally due to launch on Day One of Season Two, but sadly wasn’t ready to go live at the time. Still, it’s now water under the bridge as the latest update is finally here.
The new map is located in the in-game land of Urzkistan, offering a three-lane battlefield with multi-levels to play within. It’s smaller than a lot of the maps on offer, which means you’re going to see a lot of intense hands-on play and close combat.
If you’ve not checked out any Gunfight mode maps yet then now’s a great time to dive in. Players are placed into two v. two matches with permadeath enabled. The first team to score six victories is declared the winner, and yeah, it’s every bit as brutal as it sounds. The game mixes up the formula every two matches, throwing new weapons and armor into play.
Along with Bazaar comes a Double XP weekend, which begins this Friday (28th), as if you need any more of an excuse to boot up Modern Warfare this weekend.
In other CoD news we’re still waiting for official news of Warzone, the Battle Royale mode that’s been leaked and yet still hasn’t been confirmed by either Activision or Infinity Ward.
According to unnamed sources close to VideoGamesChronicle, the upcoming mode is “at least a few weeks away,” and is expected to be landing in early March.
Interestingly, the publication goes on to claim that the mode, supposedly known as “Warzone,” will release as a standalone game for free, offering the option for players to “upgrade” to the full Modern Warfare game. For those who already own MW, it’ll be available via the currently-greyed out section of the game menu.
