The studio head chief at CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the developers at the studio have no plans on abandoning Cyberpunk 2077 anytime soon, and that the team is aiming for it to be something to be proud of.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, prior to its release in late 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the most hyped video games of all time.
However, it also suffered many delays and with negative rumours of behind-closed-doors controversies at CDPR, fans were worried that Cyberpunk 2077 wouldn’t live up to its intense hype.
When the highly anticipated RPG released, it fell way, way below expectations. Even if you take away the high expectations, even below-average expectations were not met.

Cyberpunk 2077 released in a state full of bugs, crashes, poor AI, and much more. To be honest, I’d be here forever trying to explain all the issues that have plagued the RPG since launch, but you can catch up on any missed information here.
CDPR has released a number of updates with the aim of putting Cyberpunk 2077 on the right path. The updates haven’t always worked for the better, but at least the developers are trying.
By now we perhaps should have had the free DLC or new-gen upgrades that were promised, however that has not been the case as the developers continue to work to fix the base game.

While CDPR has seemingly been working hard to fix Cyberpunk 2077, many fans have been worried that it might get to the stage that the developers will abandon the game altogether.
When speaking to Reuters, CDPR chief Adam Kicinski made it clear that the developer has no intentions of abandoning Cyberpunk 2077, which is good news for fans waiting for the game to be fixed.
“I don’t see an option to shelve Cyberpunk 2077,” said Kicinski. ”We are convinced that we can bring the game to such a state that we can be proud of it and therefore successfully sell it for years to come.”

Coming from someone that bought Cyberpunk 2077, I’m glad that CDPR hasn’t given up on the game, because some developers might have done so by now. Though I refuse to commend them for fixing a broken game.
That said, despite its many flaws, I can see the potential of Cyberpunk 2077, but at this stage, I’m just holding out for the free new-gen upgrade.
