CD Projekt’s Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 is set to be one of the biggest games of the year (if not the generation), but if you thought you knew everything about the upcoming title, you might want to think again.

According to German publication Gamestar, Cyberpunk 2077 will allow you to summon fantasy RPG characters in Cyberspace, the digital hacking world we first saw teased last year.
The info was shared across a series of podcasts devoted to the upcoming game, which were then translated over on Reddit. The translator also claims that Cyberpunk will have more than one thousands NPCs inhabiting the world of Night City, and each will have their own daily routine.

Melee combat has also supposedly been improved since we last saw it in action, and over 700 staff members are still actively working on the project, albeit from the comfort of their own homes.
Going back to the fantasy RPG creature thing…though it might seem like a stretch to imagine such things in the dystopian future of Night City, we actually haven’t seen too much of the Cyberspace portion of the game. We know it’s something like an alternate reality for the characters, in which hacking and other nefarious digital exploits take place. We also know it’s highly dangerous, which could explain why we’d be seeing mythical beings pop up.

As noted by VGC, the tabletop game, Cyberpunk, on which the game is based on, sees Netrunner characters “jack in” to Cyberspace, which takes on various forms. These can include anything from the whole galaxy, to a D&D maze.
Right now, the rumour remains unverified, so take it with a pinch of salt.
Maybe we’ll find out more about the rumour during Cyberpunk 2077’s upcoming event, which is expected to be a gameplay reveal. The event, known as Night Wire, is taking place on June 25th.
