Days Gone, the underrated post-apocalyptic zombie game from Sony’s Bend Studio is reportedly getting a movie adaptation.
In an exclusive report from Deadline, following the recent success of the Uncharted movie, Sony is now looking to bring Days Gone to the silver screen.
According to the report, the Days Gone movie will be created by Sony PlayStation Productions and will star Sam Heughan (Outlander) with Sheldon Turner (Up in the Air) writing its story.
It is also said that Sheldon Turner will co-produce with Jennifer Klein (Pearl Harbor) under their own company, Vendetta Productions. Furthermore, Asad Qizilbash (Uncharted), as well as Carter Swan (Uncharted), will produce on behalf of Sony PlayStation Productions.
Days Gone was released for PS4 and PC

Released for PS4 in 2019 and for PC in 2021, Days Gone follows the story of Deacon St. John. The world has gone to hell following a pandemic that turns humanity into blood-thirsty zombie-like creatures known as “Freakers’ ‘.
Decan believes that his wife, Sarah had died during the early moments of the pandemic breakout. However, two years after the global catastrophe, Decan learns that his wife might actually be alive and embarks on a quest to find her.
Days Gone may be a slow starter, but once the story begins to unfold it’s quite a gripping tale and one of my favourite games of the PS4 era. If you love zombie games and are a fan of TV shows such as Sons of Anarchy and Mayans, you might just love Days Gone.
Wait, we’re getting a movie, but not Days Gone 2?
It is believed that Days Gone has sold a combined total of nearly 10 million copies on PC and PS4. Yet, it seems that Sony deems it a failure and is reluctant to develop a sequel. This is despite fans urging Sony to develop Days Gone 2.
In fact, there’s even a petition going around that pleads with Sony to make the sequel happen. At the time of writing the petition in question is approaching 200,000 online signatures.

So, while I’m sure fans are disappointed that Sony seems to think that Days Gone wasn’t enough of a success to spawn a sequel, but yet, a movie adaptation has apparently been approved.
