Rumours Suggest Unannounced 2K Game Could Be Borderlands 3 Or New Bioshock

It’s been revealed that Take-Two Interactive Software has taken game industry icon Michael Condrey under its wing, and it sounds like he’s spearheading a brand-new game that people think could be either Borderlands 3 or a new Bioshock game.

Condrey, whose previous work includes several Call Of Duty titles (Modern Warfare 3 being one of them) and – of course- Dead Space, is one of the biggest top dogs you could get on a brand-new IP (if that’s actually what we’ll be getting), so it’s going to be exciting to see what’s being planned.

Take-Two Interactive Software has confirmed [via GameSpot] that Condrey has joined 2K Games as head of a new studio, based in Silicon Valley. The studio, which is yet to be named, is already hard at work on a new project.

The mystery game is set to be released before March 2020, a.k.a the end of the next fiscal year, and it’s gotten tongues wagging on Twitter.

Analyst at Niko Partners, David Ahmad, recently tweeted about the news, speculating that it could be one of the two franchises.

Twitter’s Nibel has since responded saying his bet is Borderlands 3, tweeting : “Gotta be Borderlands 3

“IIRC when Jason [from Kotaku] reported on the new BioShock game (which was like in early ’18 I think?) he also mentioned they were still figuring out the core gameplay and sh*t.”

I guess we’ll have to wait for an update on the news…

David Ismailer, head of 2K, said: “At 2K, we offer our collective audience a variety of engaging and captivating entertainment experiences,

“We continually seek opportunities to empower and invest in the right people and ideas. Michael’s unparalleled creative, production, and leadership accolades are well-documented and deserved. We are greatly inspired not only by his passion but the potential for his new studio to complement our existing portfolio and development expertise.”

Condrey added: “Today’s announcement represents a rare and special opportunity for developers to help build and shape a new Silicon Valley studio from the ground up,

“I couldn’t be more excited, or thankful, to embark on this next step in my career.”

With experience in a range of games, from survival horror to classic FPS action, exactly what Condrey and co. are working on will remain a mystery, at least for the time being.

What do you hope the new project will be?
