When it comes to survival Resident Evil 2 absolutely nailed the genre with its recently-released remake. The remake, which is so much more than an amped-up version of the 1998 classic, has received glowing reviews from almost everyone who’s played it
It’s a pretty creepy game for sure, but someone on the good ol’ internet has found a way to make it downright terrifying. How, you ask? With a mod that swaps the game from third-person to first-person, with horrifying results.
The mod, which comes courtesy of modding genius PrayDog, can be downloaded right here.
A YouTuber by the name of Sticky has uploaded a video of the gameplay, and it’s making people wonder why Capcom didn’t publish the game with a first-person mode already available.
Check out the video in all its glory below!
On the video, one user commented: “I’m pretty much sure that Capcom wil release an official ‘Mod/DLC’ with 1st person view,i mean, there’s one already, why not just do it official?”
Over on Twitter, Leon and Claire fans are echoing the sentiment, asking Capcom to please make the first-person mod official.
@CapcomUSA_ Can you please add a first person mode to Resident Evil 2? Please?#ResidentEvil2Remake #zombies#ResidentEvil #Capcom

You have to admit, it’s a lot more scary and immersive when played in first person, and yet it doesn’t seem to lose any of the game’s original charm.
Resident Evil 7 shocked and concerned lots of long-time fans of the series after it was announced that the game would be playable in first-person only. Despite being a huge change for the franchise, it worked incredibly well in the claustrophobic environment of the Baker mansion and swap.
It also meant that the game could also be played very easily in VR, something with only the brave of heart should even consider attempting.
Would you like to see the Resident Evil 2 remake get an official first-person mode?
