Deathloop has received its third update, bringing with it new accessibility options, a photo mode, and more.
As detailed in a PlayStation blog post, the most recent update looks to be much more of a meatier one.
Most importantly is the introduction of new accessibility features. While difficulty settings aren’t always an accessibility feature, there are now ways to increase or decrease combat difficulty.
Players can also adjust the number of reprises, or lives, that Colt has. And the game speed can be lowered now too, which considering the fast paced nature of the game, is very useful.
There are some new HUD and subtitle options too. Players can now customise the size, opacity, and colour of various text and graphical elements in the game. The small text was one of the major issues of the game, so this is great to see. And it’s now easier to navigate menus, as players can now use directional buttons to move up and down lists.
Lead UI/ UX designer Yoann Bazoge said that the team is “truly grateful to the players and the ally community who gave us so much feedback when Deathloop was released,” in the post.
“We took the time to read all of the accessibility reviews and watch the videos of players explaining why they couldn’t play Deathloop. We then worked on a document listing all of the feedback and drew up a roadmap of what the additions would be for Game Update 3.“
As well as all these new accessibility features, a photo mode has been added to the game. Unsurprisingly, this is only available in single player mode. Players can choose from various filters and angles. And they can switch between Colt and Julianna too, being able to choose their outfits and weapons.
