Demon’s Souls, the first game in the Souls series, is often forgotten about and it’s easy to see why. Releasing 10 years ago, the game sadly missed the hype that the Dark Souls titles got, with lots of people not even realising Demon’s Souls came first. However, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have its own (very) dedicated fans.
People have been asking for a remaster or even a remake of the game for many years now as the PlayStation 3 exclusive is worth playing, but pretty long-winded to access.
I have yet to play 2, and didn’t know Demon Souls was a thing till after I started playing Dark. At the moment, I’m all about the Bloodborne.

The director of the games Hidetaka Miyazaki has recently – finally – commented on the prospect of a revamped version of Demon’s Souls, but his response has given his fans mixed feelings…
In an interview with Game Informer, Miyazaki explained that he’s looking at the future and not focusing on revisiting old work. He said: “It’s like when you write – when you’re younger, you look back on [previous work] and you think ‘Oh, goodness what was I thinking.’ It’s not that I’m embarrassed, I just don’t like to look at my previous works.”
We need a remake of Demon Souls please!!!! And we need a direct sequele of Shadow of the colossus too.

Understandable, but what about the fans? Will we ever get a Demon’s Souls remake? Well…maybe, but definitely not from Miyazaki.
He confessed: “If it was a studio that really loved the original work and really put their heart and soul into realising it again, then that’s something I would enjoy. But it’s really complicated because I have these fond memories.”
Would you want to play a non-FromSoftware Souls game?
