A recent database leak hints that the current PlayStation 5 remake of Demon’s Souls could be heading to PS4. But there is a snag.
The database leak was discovered by PlayStation Game Size on Twitter, an account that often leaks data information for upcoming games.
However, as the tweet indicates, the discovery of the Demon’s Souls remake on the PS4 database could mean absolutely nothing. The PS4 version might have already been cancelled or it could be something as simple as a test by the developers at Bluepoint Games.
Though there is of course the slightest possible chance that the Demon’s Souls remake could be heading to the PlayStation 4. At this time, Demon’s Souls is one of the few major exclusives on PS5 and it’s a fantastic game.
That said, given the on-going stock issues for the PlayStation 5, there are a lot of gamers that haven’t even had the opportunity to play the Demon’s Souls remake.
But will a Demon’s Souls PS4 port actually happen?
Unfortunately, there is a snag in these reports. Modder Lance McDonald responded to a tweet from VG247. McDonald claims that the data entry is over four years old and is likely to be a port of the original Demon’s Souls on PS3. McDonald is a very respectable modder and his word carries a lot of weight.
At this time, the reports of the Demon’s Souls remake are mere speculation, so we must take reports with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise.
