Detective Pikachu Has Enough R-Rated Outtakes To Make A Whole Adult Movie

When it comes to providing us all with adult-only content, Ryan Reynolds is pretty much the King of Smut.

However, the Deadpool actor has definitely chosen a more safe-for-work path with his role as the eponymous hero of the upcoming movie, Detective Pikachu. Or so we thought.

According to Reynolds, the new movie has enough R-rated cut content to make a whole other movie – one that’s definitely NSFW.

Speaking to Kotaku, Reynolds said: “You could probably squeeze together a Rated-R cut if someone went looking for it in the edit, I’m sure. God forbid they would.”

Going into more details about playing Pikachu and making the character fit with his humour, Reynolds said: “Motion capture is a unique experience in which you are alone and you throw a billion things up against the wall,

“It’s up to somebody else to sift through it and figure out what they think is going to be applicable and what they feel they want to use.

“I’d come out with 85 options for any one joke,” Reynolds said. “It was crazy.”

From the looks of things, we can expect some tongue-in-cheek humour, including pee and butt jokes, but it’s still going to be a family-friendly venture.

“Everything ran the gamut from Rated R to PG,” Reynolds said.

Hopefully we’ll get to see this R-rated cut content at some point. Maybe we’ll get the full XXX experience on P*rnHub by the years’ end…?

The movie is the first live-action Pokemon adventure, and its official description reads: “The story begins when ace private eye Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son Tim to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Harry’s former Pokémon partner, Detective Pikachu: a hilariously wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth who is a puzzlement even to himself.

“Finding that they are uniquely equipped to communicate with one another, Tim and Pikachu join forces on a thrilling adventure to unravel the tangled mystery. Chasing clues together through the neon-lit streets of Ryme City—a sprawling, modern metropolis where humans and Pokémon live side by side in a hyper-realistic live-action world—they encounter a diverse cast of Pokémon characters and uncover a shocking plot that could destroy this peaceful co-existence and threaten the whole Pokémon universe.”

Detective Pikachu releases in cinemas worldwide, May 10 2019.
