At the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase, we got a gloriously gory look at the upcoming Diablo 4 as beta sign-ups go live. Happy days!
The gameplay reveals for Diablo 4 began with a gory cinematic trailer introducing the latest playable character class, the Necromancer. Furthermore, we were also treated to some extended gameplay looking at combat, exploration as well as end game content.
The Necromancer looks brutal!
The Necromancer is the fifth and final class to join the ranks of Diablo 4. Following the Barbarian, Druid, Rogue, and Sorceress. Necromancer is not only capable of summoning undead and legions of Golems, but it will also chop down any foes that might stand in its way with a clean cut from its deadly Scythe.
In Diablo 4, players will have the choice of how they progress in the campaign with apparently “nearly limitless ways to play the game” and it will feature over 150 unique dungeons. Players will also be able to tinker with the character customisation to ensure that their favourite Diablo class truly becomes their own.

plenty of activities in Diablo 4
As well as the main campaign, players will also be able to partake in side-quests, work with other players to take down challenging bosses or explore as solo adventurers if they choose. You can even take part in various PvE and PvP events for extra special loot and rewards.
In terms of the all-important end game content, Diablo 4 “offers even more choice for players to continue making their way through the sanctuary in whichever way they choose, offering a seemingly endless number of activities and additional customisations.”

End game content will keep players busy
“Players might try to take on Nightmare Dungeons — transformed dungeons teeming with enhanced dangers and added difficulty in the form of new objectives and afflictions to the dungeon”
If you’re concerned that the end game content will eventually grow stale, then fear not. The Tree of Whispers will “frequently cycling world objectives and bounties that deliver rewards of Legendary gear, experience, crafting materials, and more! Once players reach max level, the Paragon Board will unlock, and with it, hundreds of optional paths to further customise your hero’s build.”

Diablo 4 will also feature couch co-op, cross-play, and cross-progression on all available platforms. So hopefully, you should have no problems teaming up with friends or like-minded fans.
You beta believe it!
Finally, players can now register their interest to take part in the upcoming beta for Diablo 4. However, it seems that the beta will only be available for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. You can register for the beta here. At this time, beta dates have not been announced.
Let’s just hope that when Diablo 4 finally releases, it won’t end up drowning in microtransaction controversy, unlike the recent mobile game, Diablo Immortal.
