Original Story: The Persona series is making its way to Xbox consoles for the first time, and it’s coming to Game Pass too.
Persona fans have been asking for the series to come to Xbox for a while now. The JRPG series is an incredibly popular one, known for its stylish gameplay and character relationships. Well, Phil Spencer was finally able to confirm that Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal are all coming to Xbox.
Specifically, they’re coming to Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. So no matter where you play your Xbox games, you’re likely covered. And best of all, all three of them are coming to Xbox Game Pass.
The only title with a confirmed release date so far is Persona 5 Royal, set to launch on Xbox on October 21. Which is a little while away, but at least we know when it’s arriving. But clearly, we’ll have to wait a little longer for three and four.
are these the original versions of the games?
Also important to note is that each version of these three Persona games is the updated version.
Persona 3 Portable is actually the third version of the game, initially released on the PSP in 2009. It allowed you to play as a female version of the main character and featured a different ending as a result.
Persona 4 Golden, while it had plenty of new features, isn’t too drastically different from the original version. There were some more animated cutscenes included, new social links, new areas, and more persona. But overall the story didn’t change too much, although the true ending did feature a new epilogue.
And lastly, Persona 5 Royal, also featured a number of changes. The updated version introduced an entirely new character and party member, Kasumi. A new school semester was added, as well as a number of new animated cutscenes. And plenty more like new personas, events, and a new area too.
These games are long too, so safe to say when they launch you’ll have plenty to keep yourself busy with. Now we just need to see if Persona will come to Switch. You can find out more about the games on the Persona website.
