Dino Crisis Has Been Trending on Twitter, But Will Capcom Listen?

After nearly two decades of radio silence, Dino Crisis has been trending on Twitter as fans are desperate to see a new game in the series.

The Dino Crisis series first launched for the original PlayStation in 1999 and for better or worse, spawned multiple sequels. Dino Crisis (at least for the first game) blended elements of Resident Evil, but dinosaurs were thrown into the mix.

The last time we saw a proper entry in this beloved series was Dino Crisis 3 for the original Xbox in 2003. However, the less we talk about that game, the better.

This week Capcom revealed Street Fighter 6 alongside the Capcom Fighting Collection. The latter features some of Capcom’s forgotten fighting gems, including games that were never released in the west.

Bring it back from extinction!

That being said, it seems that the announcement of Street Fighter 6, as well as the Capcom Fighting Collection, has sparked devoted fans to talk about the dino horror once more.

As shared on the fan Twitter account called Dino Crisis Fan Base, yesterday it’s been revealed that the classic survival horror game was tweeted nearly 1,500 times and was even trending on Twitter. Furthermore, seeing as this statistic was from yesterday, it’s more than likely that the number is now even higher.

As a fan of the original Dino Crisis game, I love that fans are still passionate to see its return. However, sadly, just because fans are being vocal, it doesn’t mean that Capcom will hear, let alone act upon it. Though I really hope that they do.

I wouldn’t hold my breath to see a new Dino Crisis game, as much as I would love to see it. I would even be happy to even see the original Resident Evil PlayStation trilogy bundled in with the first two Dino Crisis games in some kind of remastered collection. Again, I wouldn’t hold my breath.
