Dino Crisis Producer Involved In Exoprimal Development

Remember how the reveal of Exoprimal reminded us of Dino Crisis, especially regarding a red-haired female character?

When Dino Cri…, sorry, Exoprimal was revealed at a recent State of Play event, when we saw Dinosaurs and portals, alongside the name “Capcom”, fans hoped that we were witnessing the long-awaited return of Dino Crisis.

Then we saw a red-haired female character that had an uncanny resemblance to Regina from Dino Crisis. I too was really excited at the prospect of Capcom’s dino survival horror making a return. Alas, that wasn’t to be. Dino Crisis wasn’t making its return, instead, it was the co-op multiplayer title, Exoprimal.

That being said, there’s perhaps a good reason why Exoprimal looks like Dino Crisis. It’s been revealed that Hiroyuki Kobayashi is part of the development team of Exoprimal. Kobayashi was the producer of Dino Crisis 2 as well as Dino Crisis 3. Though we don’t like to speak about that third game too much around these parts.

Stop teasing us!

Spotted by PlayStationLifestyle.net, Kobayashi confirmed his involvement in the development of Exoprimal in a tweet. While I appreciate the DNA connection, it just makes the Exoprimal reveal all the more tormenting for fans of Dino Crisis. Don’t get me wrong, Exoprimal looks like it might be fun. But come on Capcom, just give us Dino Crisis, please!

Are you as gutted as we are that Capcom seems to be ignoring fans’ eagerness to see Dino Crisis return? Let us know across our social media channels. Exoprimal will release for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S in 2023.
