DOOM director Hugo Martin has teased the future of the franchise, says that there are still more stories to tell in this iconic series.

DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods Part Two is out now, and this two-part expansion is said to be “the epic conclusion to the Doom Slayer’s saga” which began with the fantastic 2016 reboot.
However, even though the second part of The Ancient Gods expansion is expected to be the end of the current story, the game’s director Martin has hopeful news for the future, saying there are “more stories to tell with the Doom Slayer.“

“While this is the end of the story arc that began in DOOM (2016), we planted a lot of stakes in the ground with that story,” Martin told Polygon.
“And we’ve been able to flesh out a lot of those things throughout the course of [DOOM Eternal] and to do two DLCs. So that story arc will end, you know, from the time you woke up in the sarcophagus to the end of the DLC, but there are more stories to tell with the Doom Slayer, for sure.“
Earlier this week in a thank you video from Hugo Martin and Executive Producer Marty Stratton, the duo revealed that DOOM Eternal will get further updates this year.
DOOM Eternal will also be getting a new-gen upgrade for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, which will be free to existing owners of the game.
