Dragon’s Dogma 2 Has Finally Been Announced

Last night during a 10th-anniversary celebration, Capcom finally announced that Dragon’s Dogma 2 is currently in production.

The original Dragon’s Dogma was released for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2012. Before being ported to the next generation along with the Dark Arisen expansion.

Dragon’s Dogma is an action-adventure, hack and slash RPG with a difficulty curve that perhaps took some by surprise. However, that didn’t stop the game from having a loyal legion of fans that have long been calling for a sequel.

10 years in the making!

Thankfully, that sequel is now officially on the way, pleasing the community’s patient fanbase. During the 10th anniversary livestream, Dragon’s Dogma director Hideaki Itsuno spoke of his love for the RPG and the development process that helped bring the game to life.

However, at the very end of the livestream, Dragon’s Dogma 2 was announced with a t-shirt reveal. A method that Capcom seems to be fond of, thinking back to the Resident Evil 2 remake announcement back in 2015.

Little is known about Dragon’s Dogma 2 at this time, other than a logo and that it will be developed using RE Engine. This is an engine that has powered Capcom’s more recent Resident Evil games as well as Devil May Cry 5. So, expect Dragon’s Dogma 2 to at least be visually impressive.

We’re in for a lengthy wait

A launch window hasn’t been announced for the Dragon’s Dogma sequel but expect its release to be at least a couple of years away. It will also release for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
