How Long To Beat Starfield? – Here’s What You Need To Know

How long will it take to beat Starfield? That is the grand question, in a game Bethesda suggests is bigger than Skyrim and Fallout 4.

Finally, after years of waiting patiently, we were treated to lengthy gameplay reveal for Bethesda’s upcoming sci-fi RPG, Starfield. For the most part, it did not disappoint, though there were some disgruntled fans.

Following its reveal, we’ve learned that Starfield will be a huge game. Not only will it feature over 1000 planets, but Bethesda has also promised that it will feature the biggest city that it has ever created.

So, how long will Starfield take to beat?

According to an interview with IGN (thanks Gamesradar), Bethesda’s Todd Howard has revealed that the main campaign of Starfield should take 30 to 40 hours to beat. If true, it would make Starfield’s campaign around 20% bigger than Skyrim and Fallout 4.

This one’s ending up a little bit longer [than our previous games] and we may tune that some still,” said Howard. “It’s more quests, so it might be 20% more than our previous ones.

If you blitz through the campaigns and ignore side-quests, it can take around 25 to 30 hours to finish Skyrim and Fallout 4, respectively. In relation to Starfield, it “might be in the 30s, maybe 40”, Howard told IGN, adding that “player’s mileage” will vary from player to player.

That all being said, at least for the first playthrough, I very much doubt most players will blitz through the Starfield campaign at launch. If you’re anything like me, you will routinely search every nook and cranny of the galaxy.
