Electronic Arts might be working on a new Marvel game. That’s at least according to a recent batch of rumours.
Initially, the rumour leaked courtesy of Nick “Shpeshal” Baker via the XboxEra podcast. Shpeshal claimed to have been informed by a source that Marvel is partnering with Electric Arts. However, he did also suggest that he’s not entirely confident with the sources’ reliability.
Multiple rumours are making the rounds
Furthermore, perhaps to add some validation to Shpeshal’s information, Twitter user and leaker “thethiny” not only claimed that EA is working on a Marvel game, but it will also be of the fighting genre.
Engaging with Twitter followers, obviously, thethiny didn’t mention sources, however, they did claim it’s from the same source that provided information on MultiVersus from WB Games.
Would EA be your choice?
If these rumours are true, I believe EA making a Marvel fighting game is a little bit of a strange choice. Sure, EA has done well with its UFC and boxing games, but it wouldn’t be the first name I’d think of in regards to Marvel and the fighting genre.
That being said, if Electronic Arts do in fact make a Marvel fighting game, it will be interesting to see if they create it as a 2D or 3D fighter. Personally, I’d much rather see a new Marvel vs. Capcom title.

In related EA gossip, reports were recently making the rounds that a new Need for Speed game is currently in development. Rejoice petrolheads!
