‘Fortnite expert’ probably isn’t normally the most lucrative of professions unless you’re Ninja, but if you think your Fortnite skills could be better than the best then you need to make sure you’re at PAX West 2018.
Epic Games will be hosting “fun activities for solos and squads” at the event, with a cool $1.5 MILLION prize for whoever is crowned the king at the Summer Skirmish tournament.
The best news?
The competition is open to anyone who’s attending PAX West, meaning if you’re there you have a chance to compete for the prize money.
PAX West 2018 is located in Seattle, with the Epic Games competitions running from Friday 31st August to Monday 3rd September.
According to Epic Games’ blog about the event, registration is running on-site each day from 8:00am, allowing for everyone who wants to register to sign up.
The blog explains: “Day 1, 2 and 3 of PAX West will begin with three rounds of qualifiers, followed by final qualifiers each night.
“Final qualifiers will be broadcast across all Fortnite channels from 6:00PM- 9:00PM local time.
“The top 33 winners of each evening’s final qualifiers will battle for Victory Royale in the PAX West Final matches held on Monday, September 3.
“All of Monday’s matches will be streamed on Fortnite‘s official channels, starting at 11:00AM local time and ending at 3:00PM local time. There will be more information on the tournament’s format and prizing soon!”
Epic Games will also be giving away pin badges and will have an exclusive merch store and food truck at PAX. Hopefully they’ll be serving up some Durr Burgers…
If you’re not lucky enough to be at the event this year then you’ll be able to catch all the action on YouTube, Twitch, Facebook and Twitter.
Will you be having a go at winning the big bucks, or are you going to be watching from home?
