Everyone’s Talking About Fortnite But It’s Not As Popular As Candy Crush

Fortnite is one of the most popular games in the world right now, and the fact that you can play on the go thanks to its iOS and Android Battle Royale versions (and Switch, of course!) the game has only grown its massive fandom from strength to strength.

But despite the success of the game, it looks like more people are actually playing Candy Crush Saga than going for that Victory Royale…

According to a report from Business Insider (via Apptopia), Fortnite for mobile had less hours of play than Candy Crush Saga and Clash of Clans this summer.

The data shows that between May and July 2018, players sunk 2.98 billion hours into Fortnite for mobile, not topping Candy Crush Saga’s whopping 3.31 billion hours of gameplay.

Clash of Clans is still standing strong despite being one of the OG mobile games. People played CoC for 3.38 billion hours in total over the same period.

It’s important to note though that these figures represent both Android and iOS users, and since Fortnite for Android is a very new edition of the game, the data for Android isn’t included in the hour count.

However, Android users aren’t best pleased with their version of the game. Bugs, lags and more have rendered the game unplayable for some, so maybe even with the inclusion of Android players, Fortnite still might not take the top spot.

At least it’s still beating out the mobile version of PUBG, which only raked in 1.52 billion hours of playtime – close to half of what Fortnite came out with, despite being iOS only.

Lots of Fortnite players agree that the mobile versions of the game don’t stand up to the console and PC versions, meaning that more people are likely to try for a Victory Royale on their PS4 or PC than their mobile…

Which mobile games have you been playing over the summer? Will Fortnite take the top spot for Most Hours Played next season?
