Evil Dead Patch 1.05 is now live for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Family and PC as of May 26th. Players hope this patch will fix multiple issues with the game’s day one, version 1.04.
Current Issues – Evil Dead Patch
Saber Interactive is about to release the official patch notes via their official Discord server under the newly created Patch-Notes channel. However, we have no official confirmation at this time.
There have been reports of severely nerfing Cheryl, a playable character in Evil Dead: The Game, although some users have only reported slight degrading in her healing abilities. others believe that her cooldown has been increased by 30%, with her healing abilities reduced by 25%, which would be quite a drastic change.
YouTuber Mista FiOth confirms that the animation cancelling issues have been fixed, which should help balance the demon vs survivor mechanic. Although, he does go on to explain that it’s hard to understand what else has been fixed with the vague information given at the time of release.
Our Own buggy Experiences
In our review, we discovered that there’s a long way to go when it comes to fixing XP rewarding:
“The way the game rewards XP is a big problem right now. I’ve been in games where survivors were close to winning, so the Demon player rage quits and prevents them from earning victory XP. It also feels like progression is very slow at the moment; after about ten victories in multiplayer matches, my character only levelled twice.”
We also encountered various instances of geometry bugs too:
“There were many moments where I got stuck in the level geometry. I hopped out of a car and managed to get stuck inside a tree, unable to move anywhere. There doesn’t seem to be any precautions in place to get players out of this mess, besides disconnecting from the match. There isn’t even a jump button, which creates its own stresses.“
See below for general patch notes, although we are still awaiting official confirmation from Saber Interactive on what the patch fixes:
