The upcoming Evil Dead: The Game has been delayed till next year, according to the game’s developer [via VG247].

In a recent Twitter announcement, Saber Interactive revealed that the game would be delayed till February 2022 to allow time for extra polish:
Evil Dead: The Game will be releasing in February 2022 Hey groovy gamers, we’re targeting a new release date to give the team some extra time for polish and to ensure this is the ultimate Evil Dead experience you’re all waiting for!
The studio then revealed that it’s also implementing a single-player mode and a new gameplay video starring Bruce Campbell is also on the cards:
This additional time is also allowing us to implement a single-player option that will let you enjoy the game when you are without your co-op compadres.
We want to thank everyone for your understanding and support and please stay tuned for more information about new character updates, pre-order availability, and the next gameplay video featuring Bruce Campbell.
Let’s hope the co-op horror doesn’t experience any further delays. Saber has said it’s simply aiming to polish the experience. However, similar games like Friday the 13th: The Game and 2K’s monster romp Evolve suffered from various issues at launch.
Of course, this doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with Saber and their abilities. Yet, it could be an indication that the genre is hard to implement. Let’s just hope that’s not the case!
